After clearing hurdles of CAT and
GDPI, I finally landed in NITIE. After spending 3.5 years in corporate I again
got the chance to get back to college. But friends and seniors had told me that
MBA life is going to be a lot different. After attending Dr. T. Prasad’s
lecture I realised of how different it is going to be.
Dr. Prasad started the lecture by
showing us the song ‘Another brick in the wall’ by Pink Floyd, which is a
satire on the education system. And how it is moulding everybody into same type
of person and where creativity and individuality is highly neglected. He asked
us our views on the song. This was very surprising start to the lecture. The
professor himself showed us the protest song against the education system. All
this made me curious.
After this he asked us what do we
know about his initiative- the event Mandi where students have to hit the
street and sell the various products. He emphasised on the ability of student
to sell. He showed us a video clip of the event Mandi. He made us sing the
slogans SOCHO BECHO, BECHO SEEKHO, SEEKHO SOCHO; AAJ KI ROTI AAJ HI KAMANA.
There I realised this is the way to teach MBA practically. He made us realise
that we can actually earn while doing MBA.
Second part of the lecture was
started with a game of building tower using wooden block. Firstly he asked us
to bid and then three highest bidders were given the chance to play. The game part
was similar to what used to happen at my workplace. I used to constantly instruct the worker regarding the job and my
manager used to instruct me in between.

He asked us to not just study and
get a degree but be creative and innovative. He asked us to improve our ability
to sell because that is a very important skill. He told us how the work happens
in an organisation through a game. So in the lecture he had set the goals for
us for the next two years. The lecture was very interactive and engaging and
taught us so many things in an unconventional manner.
